Brenda Joan Taylor, 74, of Simpsonville, SC, wife of Gene Taylor of 57 years, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, while at home surrounded by her family. Born in Roan Mountain, TN, she was a daughter of the late Paul Winters and the late Mildred Holden Winters. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Holly Ridge Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Taylor is survived by one son, Donald Taylor and his wife Karen and their son Austin Taylor, of NC; and one brother, Charles Winters and his wife Linda of TN.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Tonya Mullins; two brothers, Richard Winters and Grayson Winters; and one sister, Jeanette Allen.
The family would like to especially thank Deanne, Kim, Angela & Gloria for the time given to help take care of Brenda during her sickness.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in Memorial Funeral Chapel 212 N. Main Street Elizabethton, TN 37643, with the Rev. Ray Colbaugh officiating. The visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 in Happy Valley Memorial Park, in Elizabethton, TN. Music will be provided by the New Liberty Quartett. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10:20 am. to go to the cemetery.
