Clyde “Buck” Estep, 91, Johnson City passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Franklin Woods Community Hospital following a brief illness.  Mr. Estep was born July 29, 1926 to the late Frank Estep & Ludavene Parsons Estep McGee.  He served in the United States Navy during World War II serving from November 27, 1944-July 27, 1946.    He was preceded in death by his brother William Estep as well as an infant brother.

Mr. Estep was a 32nd Degree Mason, member of Rhea Lodge #47, Jonesborough.  He was a member of the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, Valley of Knoxville, and Orient of Tennessee.  Buck was a retired pipe fitter and a member of   Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Local 538.

Most of all, Mr. Estep loved God and he loved people.  He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Elizabethton.  He was devoted to his wife of 71 years, Pearl Carden Estep.  They enjoyed dancing and spending time with friends at the Johnson City Senior Center.  He was generous to all he met whether human or animal.  He never met a dog who didn’t like him. As a noted prankster and storyteller, he delighted in entertaining those around him.  He was a loving father and grandfather and was so proud of his loving wife Pearl.

In addition to his wife Pearl, he  is survived by his daughter: Faye Ludolf and husband Jim, Asheboro, NC, his daughter: Vicky White of Oak Ridge, Tn, his son-in-law: Lee White, Elizabethton, his grandchildren: Steve Ludolf and wife Michelle, Clemmons, NC, Kate Kerekes and husband Ryan, Oak Ridge, Tn., Meg Douthard & husband Kevin, Seattle, WA., Molly White, Seattle, WA., his great grandchildren: Sarah  Ludolf, Zoe Grace Ludolf, Pearl Ludolf, Patrick Kerekes, Neven Kerekes and Trevor Kerekes, his sister: Jean Schretter and husband Howard of Athens, GA., and his cousin, Curtis Estep, Suffolk, VA.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March15, 2018 in Memorial Funeral Chapel, 212 N. Main Street, Elizabethton with his grandson: Steve ludolf and Pastor Travis Biller officiating.  Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be selected from family & friends.   Honorary Pallbearers will be: the Harold Lingerfelt Sunday School Class and his church family, Snuffy Murray,  and Jim Ludolf.  Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.  Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site. www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
