Joyce Bernice “Peanut” Mullins, age 77, of Summerville, SC, formerly of Elizabethton, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018, in Summerville. She was born in Shouns, TN and was a daughter of the late Taft and Selma Warren Wilcox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil K. Mullins and a son, Michael K. Mullins.

Mrs. Mullins was a member of Doe River Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who loved to sew, quilt and sit on the porch while visiting with family and friends. She loved and welcomed everyone and her friends and family all enjoyed her quick wit.

Those left to cherish her memory include four granddaughters, Missy Mixon and her husband, Lee, Summerville, SC; Christine Webb and her husband, Kevin, Guin, AL; Summer Halpern, Fort Myers, FL; Jessi Mullins, Bluff City, TN; and several great-grandchildren. Many special nieces and nephews also survive.

A service to honor the life of Mrs. Mullins will be conducted on Monday, February 19, 2018, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor Steven Spencer officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1:00 – 2:00 PM on Monday prior to the service.

A graveside service will follow the funeral service on Monday at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Nathan Mixon, Mason Wilcox, Scott Wilcox, Jeff Wilcox, Greg Wilcox and Billy Ray Icenhour. Honorary pallbearers will be Zeke Watson, Jacob Harrington, Malachi Hatley, Thomas Riley and Johnny Lovelace.

The family would like to express heart felt and sincere appreciation to her caregiver, Kathryn Enterline and Agape Hospice for the care and support shown to Mrs. Mullins. A very special thank you also goes to her great-granddaughter, Jenna Mixon for the care and friendship she shared with her great-grandmother every day after school.
