Linda Sommers, age 58, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord, on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at the home of her mother. She was the daughter of Lucy Greene Guinn of Elizabethton and the late Billy Guinn. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Hardin and a brother, Bill Guinn.

Mrs. Sommers was a homemaker and a member of Upper Gap Creek Freewill Baptist Church. She was a caregiver and loved being with her family.

In addition to her mother, others left to cherish her memory include her husband of thirty-six years, Joseph Sommers, of the home; three sons, Glen Payne and his wife, Brandi, of Elizabethton; Billy Joe Sommers and his wife, Michelle, of Johnson City; Robert Sommers, of Elizabethton; six grandchildren, Gracie Payne, Evie Payne, Kendric Sommers, Khloe Sommers, Robert Sommers, Jr. and Lucy Sommers. Two sisters also survive, Brenda Hardin and Jennie Bradley, both of Elizabethton, along with several nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Sommers will be conducted at 7:00 PM, on Monday, February 19, 2018, in the Chapel of Peace, Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Dale Blevins officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Monday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM prior to the service.

The graveside service and interment for Mrs. Sommers will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet the family at 9:15 AM at the funeral home on Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.

The family wishes to express a special and sincere thank you to Amedisys Hospice and to Spring Brooks for the love and care shown to Mrs. Sommers and the family.
