Norene Williams Jenkins, age 91, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 16, 2014.
She was born in Jenkins, Kentucky to the late Sexton and Jane Pritchard Williams.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Henry Jenkins; a sister, Helen Sawyer; brothers, Charles “Bud” Williams, Harold Williams, James “Jim” Williams and Don Williams.
She was a faithful member of Valley Forge Freewill Baptist Church, since 1948, where she especially enjoyed her Young at Heart Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her daughter, Carole Elaine Stout, Johnson City; a son, Henry “Hank” Jenkins and his wife Donna, Elizabethton; grandchildren, Scott Stout, Greeneville, SC, Brian Stout, Johnson City, Andy Jenkins and wife Heather, Butler, Randall Jenkins and wife Kim, Elizabethton, Daniel Jenkins and Kyle Jenkins, both of Elizabethton; two very special great grandchildren, Chelsea Jenkins and Colton Jenkins; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Williams and Ruth Williams; and a brother-in-law, Bill Jenkins. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Norene Williams Jenkins will be conducted at 2:30 PM on Sunday, May 18, 2014 in the Valley Forge Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Randy Johnson and Reverend Mark Potter, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Valley Forge Freewill Baptist Church; or at the residence at anytime. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM-2:30 PM in the church, prior to the service on Sunday.
The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be her neighbors and her church family.
Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to the Valley Forge Freewill Baptist Church, Young at Heart Ladie’s Sunday School Class, 1503 Riverview Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
