Shirley Presnell Gillespie, age 69, of Elizabethton, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Shirley was born in Davy County, North Carolina on March 15, 1946 to the late Henry Edward Presnell and Julia Ruth Golden Presnell.
Shirley was a former gas station attendant for Am-Co and was of the Freewill Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory include one son, John Gillespie, of Kannapolis, North Carolina; one daughter, Marla Adams Rauch, of Jefferson City, TN; four grandchildren, Megan, Micah, Kristy and Shelby; three great grandchildren, Starla, Ethan and Ella; two sisters, Judy Greene, of Elizabethton and Patty Barringer, Salisbury, NC; and her special nieces and nephews, Charity, Ashley, Angela, Conner Austin, Madison, Lizzie, Catherinnia, Sandra, Michael and Timmy.
A service to honor the life of Shirley Presnell Gillespie will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 28, 2015 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Mr. Bryan Smith, officiating.
The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
