Evelyn Carpenter Hampton, 88, Louisville, Kentucky formerly of Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016 in the Regency Center of Louisville after an extended illness. A native of Corbin, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the Luther & Lila Ruth Carpenter. She had lived in Elizabethton for a number of years. She was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harold Gene Hampton who died February 9, 2007, her brothers: Edward, Wayne and Ralph Carpenter and a sister: Dora Barton.
Survivors include her daughter, Shelia Fincher (Darrell), a grandson: Stephen Fincher, a sister: Janette Curry, a brother-in-law: D.H. Hampton (Barbara) and several nieces & nephews.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
