Jackson Burl “Jack” Lipford, 79, Elizabethton, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at his residence. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late James Homer & Addie Crowe Lipford. Jack attended Elizabethton High School. He was retired as a Supervisor at Industrial Piping, Charlotte, North Carolina after 35 years of service. Jack was a Mason, Shriner and a member of the Oasis Temple. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: James Lipford, Jr and Basil Lipford and three sisters: Beulah Snavely, Shirley Chapel and Roberta Dumpy’s. He was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years: Judy Garland Lipford. His children: Michael & Phylis Lipford, Concord, North Carolina, Tammy & Gary Wallace and Todd & Pam Lipford all of Charlotte, North Carolina. 7 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren. One Brother: Robert “Bob” Lipford and two sisters: Mary King and Geraldine Vandeventer. Several nieces & nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Chris Shumate officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by C.J. Ballard. Active Pallbearers will be: Gary Wallace, Jeff Lipford, Heath Lipford, Devin Lipford, Randy Lewis, Kenny Green, Jeff Jeffers, Chris Clark and Weston Jeffers. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Robert Carroll, Gordon Walker, George McQueen, and Richard Oliver. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Dr. Elnora Spradling, the staff of Mtn. Sates Hospice, and two special nieces: Vicki Clark, Lee Anna Allen and Jeff & Mary Lee Kite. A Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted following the funeral service by Dashiell Masonic Lodge # 238. The family will receive friends from 11:30 to 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Jack to the Oak Street Baptist Church , 804 Oak Street, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643 or Mtn.
