Albert Alex Proffitt, of Hampton, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, March 4, 2015. A native of Johnson County, he was the son of the late Joe and Rosa Lee Stout Proffitt.
He was a member of Hampton First Baptist Church, where he was a part of the Servant’s Hands Puppet Ministry. He loved his church family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Proffitt; daughter, Traci Proffitt and her boyfriend Michael Grayson; father-in-law, Howard Julian; two brothers and their wives, Dean and Dorothy Proffitt and Robert and Wanda Proffitt; sister-in-law, Teresa Wilson and her husband Lester; his aunt, Kate Swift and husband Dearl; nieces and nephews, April Proffitt, Joey Proffitt and Brandon Wilson. He is also survived by his many friends at Teresa’s Grill in Hampton.
A graveside service to honor the life of Albert Alex Proffitt will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Happy Valley Memorial Park, with Joe Ledford, officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Happy Valley Memorial Park at 9:50 AM on Saturday.
Following the graveside service the family will hold a celebration of life for Mr. Proffitt from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Hampton First Baptist Church, with a fellowship meal to follow.
