Anna Lee Butler Depew, 84, Elizabethton, passed away Friday, September 19, 2014, at the Appalachian Christian Village.
A native of Dickens County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late George and Delcie Vanover Butler. She had lived most of her life in Elizabethton.
Anna was a retired nursing assistant with Carter County Memorial Hospital for 19 years. She was a member of East Side Free Will Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School Teacher.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy B. Depew Jr.; two sisters; and one brother.
Survivors include a son & daughter-in-law: Dennis & Donna Depew, Johnson City; A daughter & son-in-law: Kathy and Gary Sanders, Gray; Seven Grandchildren; Amy Hedrick and husband, Brad, Charlotte, North Carolina, Elizabeth Diaz and husband, Noel, West Lafayette, Indiana, Kimberly Rule and husband, Dwain, Lebanon, Indiana, Chris Sanders and wife, Lisa, Gray, Jeana Sanders and Scott, Knoxville, Matthew Kwiatkowski and Stasha, Roan Mountain, and Megan Hayes and husband, Kenny, Limestone; One Aunt: Mrs. Madge Taylor, Lebanon, Virginia; Several nieces, nephews & cousins; A special friend and longtime neighbor: Geraldine Hodge.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Justin Deaton officiating.
Graveside Service and Interment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2014, in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Lisa Holder. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the Staff and her extended family at Appalachian Christian Village.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home prior to the service.
To those who prefer, memorials may be made to the donors favorite charity.
Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday to go to the cemetery.
