Anna Lou Nave Burleson, 85, of Elizabethton, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Ivy Hall. She was the daughter of the late Red William and Julia Goodwin Nave and was born in Johnson County (old Butler). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Burleson; son, Steve Burleson; brothers; Luther, Stanford “Peg”, Carl, Robert, Red W. Jr., and Harry Nave.

Mrs. Burleson was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where she had attended since the age of 4. She was very active in the church choir and the T.E.L. Sunday School Class. She also enjoyed spending time with her dog Bandit, who was the love of her life, and antiquing.

She is survived by her sister, Florence tucker and husband Fred of Hampton; granddaughter, Core Burleson and husband Mike of Greenville, SC; sister-in-law, Eva Mae Phipps of Elizabethton; brother-in-law, Paul Burleson of Elizabethton; former daughter-in-law, Elaine Burleson; and a special friend, Judy Kelly. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Friday, February 13, 2015, at Tetrick Funeral Home.

A service to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Burleson will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, February 14, 2015, in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be Harold Lingerfelt, Harold Stout, Mack Lyons, Jerry Barnett, and Carroll Lowe. Honorary pallbearers will be Gazi Ragep, Jason Barnett, Arden Hill, Sam Nave, the T.E.L. Sunday School Class, and the Therapy Dept of Ivy Hall. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 11: 15 AM on Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff of Ivy Hall; nurses, therapy, dietary, and business office.
