Anna Mae Buck Walker, 88, of Johnson City, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 11, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Monte Lee and Rosa McKeehan Buck and was born in Carter County. She was a graduate of Happy Valley High School, where she was a star basketball player. She was employed by the Elizabethton Credit Bureau and later worked in the Personnel Office at the Sperry plant in Bristol. Anna was a member of Watauga Point Methodist Church and presently had been attending Brick Christian Church. Her main interests included gardening and being active in the lives of her son and two grandsons. She and her husband had traveled extensively in the United States and Canada.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Monte” Walker; a son, Todd M. Walker, a brother, David Buck and a sister, Elizabeth “Liz” Fisher.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Cindy Oliver Walker; grandsons, Andrew Todd Walker (Olivia), Johnson City; Cory Daniel Walker (Kelsie Ensor), Louisville, KY; sister, June Pritchard (Sherman), Montezuma, NC; sisters-in-law, Joanne Blevins and Barbara Buck, Johnson City; Edith Walker, Chattanooga; nieces and nephews, Eddie Fisher, Charleston, SC; David L. Buck, (Kathy Jo); Keith Buck, (Patti), Nelta Buck, all of Johnson City; Sherry Fletcher (Edward), Banner Elk, NC; Mary Ann Pritchard, Montezuma, NC; Russell Blevins (Karen), Mars Hill, NC; Robert Blevins (Kathi), Gray; Richard Blevins (Alice), Piney Flats; Doug Blevins, (Kathy), Elizabethton; Michelle Dotson (Clark), Alabama; Russ Walker (Elena), Louisiana.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, June 13, 2016 at the Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton or at the home at anytime.

A graveside and interment service will be conducted on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Happy Valley Memorial Park with her nephew, Edward Fletcher, officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend are invited to meet the family at the cemetery at 10:45 AM on Tuesday.

The family would like to express a special thank you to her caregivers, Betty Ford and Lucy Gardner for the love and support given to Anna and to the family.
