Audrey Eugene Taylor, 67, Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, March 7, 2014, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness.
Mr. Taylor was born in Ickard County, North Carolina, to the late Roy Killian and Irene T. Bryant, but had lived in Elizabethton the last 40 years. Mr. Taylor was of the Baptist Faith. Audrey was an Electrician for over 18 years. He also worked as a State Electrical Inspector for the City of Elizabethton.
His passions were fishing, singing in church and playing his guitar.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years: Carolyn F. (Susie) Depew Taylor; Three Daughters: Shana Shaffer and husband, Chris, Elizabethton, Angela (Angie) Sips and husband, Terry, of Indiana, and Carolyn A. (Cissy) Duncan and husband, Danny, Kingsport; A son: Daniel E. Taylor; Seven Grandchildren: Chelsie Shaffer, Taylor Duncan, Ashley Sips, Chloe Shaffer, Tyler Duncan, Brandon Sips and Sara Sips; Two Sisters: Kay Norman and husband, David, of Alabama, Barbara W. Jones, of North Carolina; Two Brothers: Jack Wilson and wife, Sue, and Jeff Bryant, of North Carolina; Several Nieces & Nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Willy Campbell, Rev. Jerry Shaffer and Mr. Adam Warren officiating.
Entombment Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, in the Mausoleum of Hope, Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Mr. Jon Holder. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, will be: Tyler Duncan, Alan Jones, Steve Vannoy, Stanley Olsen, Danny Duncan, Paul Sparks, Gary Sheffield, Adam Warren, Jeff Deloach and Joe Warren. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Chris Shaffer, Terry Sips, Gary Holder, Whitey Bridges, Don Williams and Forney Danner.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday to go to the cemetery.
