Barbara Yvonne Smith

     Barbara Yvonne “Bobbie” Whitehead Smith, 66, Elizabethton passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at her residence following an extended illness. She was a native of Carter County. Bobbie was a 1970 graduate of Hampton High School. She was a retired employee at the Adult Day Care Services of Johnson City. She loved to work in her flowers and crochet. She was of the Baptist Faith. Bobbie was preceded in death by her father Mack Whitehead.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years: Sidney Smith. Her Daughter & Son-in-law: Nikki & Jed Ward, Elizabethton. A Granddaughter: Skylar Ward.   Her Mother: Carolyn Sue Ingram Whitehead. Three Sisters: Kathy Collins, Johnson City, Donna Whitehead, Elizabethton and Angela Hathaway & husband Jeff, Pace, Florida. A brother: Michael Whitehead, Elizabethton. Also surviving are several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2019 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Jeffrey Hathaway and Mr. Kenneth Ingram officiating. Music will be provided by Bobby McGee. Active Pallbearers will be: Sidney Smith, Jed Ward, Jeff Morton, Jeff Hathaway, Jimmy Wiseman, Todd Fields and Michael Whitehead. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Keith Lyons, Marvin Lyons, Kenneth Ingram, Wayne Ingram, Jerry Ingram, Lee Whitehead and Johnny Elliott, members of the 1970 graduating Class, Hampton High School and Co-Workers at the Adult Day Care Services. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12:20 p.m. Friday to go to the cemetery.
