Bob R. Vines, Sr., 79, Elizabethton passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017 at his residence after a brief illness.  A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Dewey & Virtie Stines Vines.   He was a retired Automotive Mechanic having been employed at Dixie Battery for 28  years.  Bob was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church.  He loved restoring old cars and gardening.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Clyde, Norman and Tony Vines and a sister: Martha Guinn.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years: Ann Keller Vines.  Three Children: Bobby Vines, Jr. & wife Angie, Elizabethton, Kenny Vines & wife Marta, Lexington, Kentucky and Debbie Foster & husband David, Jonesborough.  Four Grandchildren: Derrick, Eric and Andrew Vines and Devin Foster.  Two Brothers: Gilbert Vines & wife Hilda, Elizabethton and Danny Vines & wife Angela, Jonesborough.  A Sister: Vickie Snyder & husband Danny, Gray.  Several nieces & nephews, his fur baby, Artie.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Chris Shumate officiating.  Entombment Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2017 in the Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Jackie Cole officiating.  Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.  Honorary Pallbearers will be: His church family and Harold Hicks.  The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the Staff of Avalon Hospice, Dr. Elizabeth Defluiter and her staff, and v the Staff of ICU, Sycamore Shoals Hospital.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.  Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday to go the cemetery.   Friends may also visit with the family at his residence.  Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
