Bynam Payne, age 71, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from Greystone Healthcare Center. Mr. Payne was born in Johnson County, Tennessee to the late Dana and Sarah Stansberry Payne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy A. Payne; two brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Payne was retired from Mapes Piano String in Elizabethton.
Survivors include a son, Terry Payne and wife Michelle, of Elizabethton; two granddaughters, Amber Payne and Lacie Malo, both of Elizabethton; one great grandson, Noah Malo, of Elizabethton; a very special niece, Janie Townsend, of Elizabethton; a very special great niece, April Townsend, of Elizabethton; one brother, John Payne, of Johnson County, and a special friend, Rose Potter, of Johnson County. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends for Mr. Payne from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 15, 2014 in the Fireside Room of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton; or at the residence at anytime.
The graveside service for Mr. Payne will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Johnny Townsend, Waco Campbell, Rick Nidiffer, Buddy Watson, and Ed Morton. Honorary pallbearers will be Doctors, Nurses and staff of ICU at Sycamore Shoals Hospital, especially Courtney (RN), Jade and Phyllis Guy. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 AM on Friday, to go in procession.
