    Carl Edward Estep, 96, Elizabethton, went to be with his Lord, Sunday, October 6, 2019 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Samuel Mitchel & Nanny Carden Estep. Mr. Estep served in the United States Army during World War II, serving in the European and South Pacific Theatres. He was retired as a Dental Technician at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. He was an active member of Roan Street Church of God where he served as Clerk for over 50 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years Eunice Isaacs Estep, one sister: Novella Treadway and three brothers: Roy, SM and Floyd Estep.

Survivors include his children: Edward Dean (Sherry) Estep, Kingsport, Sue Tinker, Elizabethton and Kathy (Ernest) Ensor, Elizabethton. Five Grandchildren: Beth Estep (Jason) Lane, Mark Estep, Jamie Tinker (Brad) Carpenter, Renee Ensor and Jason (Lindsey) Ensor. Two Great Grandchildren: David & Jacob Carpenter.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Kenneth Bewley and Pastor Brien Sturgill officiating.  Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2019 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Gene Estep, Carol Roberts and Daren Shepard. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:50 a.m. Friday will be: Brad Carpenter, Jacob Carpenter, David Carpenter, Jason Ensor, Steve Pierce, Brandon Kent, Kevin Stout, Daren Shepard, Benny Whittemore and Eric Shepard. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Mr. Estep to the Roan Street Church of God, 105 West E Street, Elizabethton, Tn. 37643. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:50 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
