Carolyn Hatley Barnes, 65, Gray, entered into rest, Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at her residence. Ms. Barnes was a native of Elizabethton and a resident of Washington County for many years. She was a daughter of the late Andy and Ruth Estep Grindstaff.
Ms. Barnes was self-employed and the former owner of Perfect Tan and Taco Express.
She attended Calvary Church. Ms. Barnes enjoyed working, traveling and spending time with family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Tina Hatley, Jonesborough; her son, David Hatley and his wife, Linzi, Johnson City; grandchildren, Storm, Hudson and Branson Hatley; two brothers, Luther Grindstaff, Elizabethton and Kenneth Grindstaff, Johnson City; one sister, Pauline McInturff, Jonesborough and several nieces and nephews.
The family will greet guests and share memories from 5-7 pm Friday, October 30, 2015 at Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services, Johnson City followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 PM. Pastor Jackie Cole will officiate. Committal services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Happy Valley Memorial Park, Elizabethton. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 AM. Pallbearers will be J.J. Cole, Chad Smith, Brian Mills, Burt Waycaster, Chris Steadman and Mark Simmons.
