Cecil E. Freeman

Cecil Eugene Freeman, age 88, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with his Lord and his wife on Monday, October 21, 2019 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Cecil was born in Carter County to the late Ralph and Martha Bula Liner Freeman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie “Jean” Blackburn Freeman; and several brothers and sisters.

Cecil retired from North American Rayon Corporation and was a Christian. He had previously worked in the Carter County Rescue Squad as a Captain for over 30 years. Cecil was a wonderful father and grandfather and was very active in his community. When he and his wife were homebound, they enjoyed listening to different sermons, gospel singing and Christian programs.

Those left to cherish Cecil’s memory include two sons, Ronnie Lynn Freeman, of Elizabethton, TN and Michael Eugene Freeman, of Virginia Beach, VA; two grandchildren, Rachael Freeman and Adrian Michael Kincade; and two great grandchildren.

A service to honor the life of Cecil Eugene Freeman will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2019 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Tony Birchfield, officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Saturday.

The committal and entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
