Charles L. Febuary, age 84, of Elizabethton, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the residence of his son in Elizabethton. Charles was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Wastil and Emma Cox Febuary. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Taylor Febuary; two sisters, June Bartz and Maggie Loebseck; and two brothers, Frank and Moris Febuary.

Mr. Febuary had worked as an electrician and attended the Church of God. He was a member of Dashiell Lodge No.238 F&AM and was a veteran of both the United States Air Force and the United States Army, having served in Korean War.

Survivors include a son, Leonard Febuary and wife Susan, Elizabethton; a brother, John Febuary, Hampton, VA; and a sister, Betty Ralph, Elizabethton; one grandson, Matt Febuary; and several nieces, nephews and cousins, also survive.

A service to celebrate and honor the life of Mr. Charles L. Febuary will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Sunday, October 26, 2014, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Mr. John Smith and Mr. Don Marshall, ministers, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Sunday.

The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Richard Barker, Joe Alexander, Jerry Franklin, Greg Bowers, Kenny Carter, Tim Broyles, Marcel Shell, Jim Holdren, David Shields, and Charlie Hayes. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Bartz, Jack Hensley, Jimmy Oxendine, Larry Gouge, Justin Smith, Danny Smith, the Men’s Class of First Christian Church, and the Men’s Breakfast Club of First Christian Church. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at 10:15 AM on Monday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, to go in procession.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Wanda Campbell with Aide and Assist and Amedisys Hospice for the love and care shown to Mr. Febuary, during his illness.
