Charles Wesley Collins, 75, Elizabethton, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 18, 2016 in the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Milton Odell and Eula Mae Coleman Collins, he had lived in Elizabethton for the past 40 years. He was a retired Mechanic having worked at Greystoke Chevrolet, Cadillac in Johnson City for several years. Charles was a member of the Southside Free Will Baptist Church. His hobbies were fishing, camping and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years: Barbara McInturff Collins. His Children: Allen Cooper, Sr. and wife Sue Ann and Thomas Cooper and wife Betty all of Elizabethton and Susan Lemley and Companion Tom Laymon, Jonesborough. 9 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. Several brothers & sisters and several nieces & nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2016 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Steve Burleson officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be: Manuel Simerly, Adam Triplett, Caleb Gross, Jacob Cooper, Allen Cooper, Jr., Nicholas Padua, Kevin Scalf and Randy Bradley. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service. Friends may also visit with his family at the residence.
