Charles William “Bill” Estep, 80, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at his home.
Bill was the only child of the late Nancy Scott Estep Routh. He was raised in the West End area of Elizabethton where he met and married the love of his life, Lois Carden, who preceded him in death in 2005, after fifty-two years of marriage.
Bill served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Chukawan from 1952-1956. Having a strong work ethic, he was an electrician by trade, but was skilled in carpentry, mechanics, and problem solving of anything life threw at him.
Bill leaves behind daughters; Robin (Carrol) Lowe, Elizabethton; Dawn (Sam) Raynor, Johnson City; Billie (Jimmy) Clark, Johnson City; Linda Estep, Johnson City; one son, Nathan Estep, Seattle, WA; four grandchildren; Nerissa Lowe, Crystal (Ben) Turner; Olivia (Brady) Higgins; and Brandon Estep; two great-grandchildren, Jayden Lowe and Caleb Turner.
The graveside service for Bill will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Tim Tapp officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:55 AM on Wednesday. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 20th between the hours of 12:00 PM – 4:30 PM, or at the residence at anytime.
