Charlotte Ann Higgins Townsend, 58, 1009 Rocky Ridge Road, Johnson City passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013 in the Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness.
A native of Unicoi County, she was a daughter of the late Harley & Maude Willis Higgins. She had lived in Carter County for a number of years. Charlotte was a 1973 graduate of Unicoi County High School. She had been an employee of Murray Guard for 35 years. She was a member of the Milligan Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother: Bud Higgins and a sister: Tammie Metcalf.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years: Mike Townsend. A Daughter & Son-in-law: Brianna Lee & Jason Bowman. A Son & Daughter-in-law: Edward Keith & Holly Foster, Erwin. Four Grandchildren; Gabriel Bowman, Noah Michael Bowman, Emma Grace Bowman and Alex Foster. A Sister & Brother-in-Law: Barbara & Richard Bennett, Lincolnton, North Carolina. Five Nephews & Two Nieces.
