Clifford Frank Osborne, age 83, of Johnson City, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at his residence, following an extended illness. Clifford was a native of Carter County and was a son of the late Frank and Winnie Richardson Osborne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William “Bill” Osborne and Carl Osborne.
Mr. Osborne had worked as a purchasing manager for Kennametal Corporation, where he was the president of the Kennametal Credit Union for many years. He was active in the Kennametal retirees Breakfast Club. He was a United States Army veteran, having served in the Korean War and was a member of Sinking Creek Baptist Church. Clifford was a member of the Miata Car Club and loved being outside and spending time with his grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Desserree Pierce Osborne, of the home; one daughter, Jill Bremer and husband Dr. Jonathan Bremer, of Elizabethton; one son, Craig Osborne and wife Sharon, of Lenoir, NC; five grandchildren, Dr. Abby Gass and husband Dr. Justin Gass, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Chloe Bremer, of Nashville, Sophie Bremer, of Elizabethton, Sarah Osborne, of Wilmington, NC, and Daniel Osborne, of Salt Lake City, UT; two sisters, Helen Sparks and husband Bartley, Murfreesboro, TN and Jean Hawkins, of Huntersville, NC. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A committal and entombment service to honor the life of Mr. Clifford Frank Osborne will be conducted at 3:30 PM on Sunday, February 7, 2016 in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Reverend Tom Swafford, officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 7, 2016 in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, prior to the committal service.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dora Swafford, Kim Hardin, Mountain States Home Health Care and Dr. Vivian Clark for the love and care shown to Clifford during his illness.
