Conley J. Glover, 84, Elizabethton passed away Friday, February 28, 2014 in the Life Care Center, Gray following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late William Anderson and Mary Chambers Glover.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Glover was retired from the Raytheon Corporation after 36 years of service. He attended Fairview Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Rogers Glover, September 7, 2013, by a son Jerry Conley, three sisters: Emma Lee Street, Lissie Browning and Gertrude Canter and two brothers: William “Bill” and Raymond Glover.
Survivors include Two Daughters & Sons-In-Law: Debbie & Tim Rasnick, Elizabethton and Connie & Rick McMullins, Blountville. A Son & daughter-in-law: Keith & Melissa Glover, Piney Flats. Two Grandsons: Tyler McMullins and Joshua Rasnick.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2014 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Jordan and Mr. Tyler McMullins officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Doug Rasnick officiating. Music will be provided by Carson Peters and Doug Childers. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday will be: Daniel Holder, Doug Rasnick, Nick Holder, Dave Honeycutt, Lawrence Pierce, Jeff Pierce, Joshua Rasnick and Tyler McMullins. Honorary Pallbearers will be: John Whitson, Terry Taylor, Cecil Eggers, Ron Weathers, Neighbors of Green Valley Lane, Dr. Robert Schubert and Staff, Dr. Harold Alison and Staff, Jody Martin and the Staff of Life Care Center, Gray. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion & Tennessee National Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Mr. Glover to the Fairview Baptist Church, 585 Watauga Road, Watauga, Tenn. 37694, The Abba Fund, P.O. Box 868049, Plano, Texas 75086 or the Lamplight Theater, 140 Broad Street, Kingsport, Tenn. 37660.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at his residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday to go to the cemetery.
