Dave Powell, 88, Elizabethton, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 in the Pine Ridge Care Center. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Stewart & Lou Hill Powell. Mr. Powell retired from North American Rayon Corporation. He was also involved in Construction Work. He was a member of East Side Christian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Betty Jean Campbell Powell, February 2, 2016 and by two sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include a son & daughter-in-law: Lynn & Paula Powell, Elizabethton; Two Grandsons: David & Dustin Powell, Three Great Grandchildren: Hallie, Raven and Brayden. One Sister: Jean Stines, Elizabethton. Several nieces & nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Randle Johnson, Minister officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the Staff of Pine Ridge Care Center for the excellent care he received.
