David Bruce Jones, age 73, of Elizabethton, TN went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. David was born in Beckley, West Virginia to the late David Letcher Jones and Betty Lou Laws Huber. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David William Jones and a brother, Roger Lee Jones.
David was a Vietnam veteran and served in the Army. He was a carpenter by trade and was a member of East Side Freewill Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish his memory include his cousins, Lou Ann Mollish and husband Mark of Elizabethton, TN; Jack B. Laws, Jr. and wife Brenda of Beckley, WV; Cheryl Mays and husband Jody of Beckley, WV; Cathy Persinger and husband Dennis of Daniels, WV; Karen Garcia and husband Randy of Beckley, WV; Aunts, Joyce Laws of Beckley, WV; and Darlene Collins of Elizabethton, TN.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton. A celebration of life service will follow the visitation at 12:00 PM with Reverend Justin Deaton officiating. Committal and interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park in Johnson City, Tennessee following the memorial service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Jody Mays and all veterans of Eastside Freewill Baptist Church.
