Denise R. Andes, 49, Johnson City, died Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at Select Specialty Hospital, Bristol, following a lengthy illness.
Denise was a native and lifelong Johnson City resident.
She was a daughter of the late Roy and Judy Wexler Brown.
Denise was a 1984 graduate of Science Hill High School.
She was a former Associate with Wal-Mart before retiring due to poor health. Prior to her working at Wal-Mart, Denise was a longtime employee at Shoney’s.
She was a member of Berea Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Denise was preceded in death by her grandparents.
She is survived by her husband of thirty years, Danny Andes; two children, Brandon Andes and Ashley Andes, both of Johnson City; her loving pet dog, Taylor; her step-mother, Christine Brown, Johnson City; three brothers, Scott Brown and wife Kim, Johnson City, Greg Brown and wife Betty, Pat Brown and wife Becky, all of Knoxville; two sisters, Beth Feathers and husband James, Jonesborough, Angie King and husband Charles, Greeneville; a special aunt, Shirley Fair, Johnson City; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff of Select Specialty Hospital for the loving care given to Denise during her stay.
The funeral service will be conducted Friday, November 6, 2015, at 7:00 P.M. from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, with Rev. Charlie Cash and Chaplain Richard Long, officiating. Special music will be provided by Sharon Cox.
The family will receive friends Friday prior to the service from 5:00-7:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.
The graveside committal service will be held Saturday at 10:30 A.M. in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Scott, Greg & Pat Brown, Dale & David Andes, and Brett Foster. Those planning to attend are to meet at the funeral home by 10:00 A.M. Saturday to proceed to the cemetery.

Brenda Sue Kelley, age 73, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 1, 2015 from the Hillview Health Center. Brenda was a native of Carter County and was the daughter of the late Jim Manning and Reba Linebaugh Markland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kelley, Jr.; one brother, Charles Manning; and her step father, Carl Markland.

Brenda was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved Elvis.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, John Kelley and wife Starlette, and Wayne Kelley and wife Kim, all of Elizabethton; two daughters, Wendy Watson and husband Mike, of Elizabethton, and Amanda Neece and husband John, of Murfreesboro; seven grandchildren, Kash Kelley, Chris Kelley, Brad Kelley, Kianna Watson, Klacie Watson, Austin Kelley and Kaylee Neece. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A service to honor the life of Mrs. Brenda Sue Kelley will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Ed Tolley, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Wednesday; or at the residence at any time.

The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be John Kelley, Wayne Kelley, John Neece, Mike Watson, Chris Kelley, Brad Kelley and Austin Kelley. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton at 10:15 AM on Thursday, to go in procession.
