Doris M. Cannon, 93, Johnson City, died on Monday, February 5, 2018 at NHC Healthcare following a lengthy illness. She was a native of Brooklyn, NY and was a daughter of the late Joseph H. and Mabel Smith Macauley.
Doris was a homemaker and a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack H. Cannon, in 2013. Survivors include her sons, Dale Cannon and wife Joni, Johnson City, Blair Cannon, Knoxville and Wade Cannon and wife Jan, Chattanooga; grandchildren, Tara Thomas and husband John, Kyle Cannon and wife Melinda, Brandon Cannon and wife Meg, and Brittany Streufert and husband Adam; great grandchildren, Elijah and Elizabeth Thomas, Molly, Jack, Luke Cannon and Cannon Streufert. The family would would like to express their appreciation to the staff at NHC for their care.
The Requiem Mass for Mrs. Cannon will be conducted Thursday, February 8, 2018, at 2PM in St. John’s Episcopal Church with Father Harry Shaefer officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30PM to 2PM in the church. The graveside committal service will follow the Mass at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Kyle Cannon, Brandon Cannon, John Thomas and Elijah Thomas.
