Earl Waitsel “Waits” Puckett, 76, Johnson City passed away Sunday June 5, 2016 in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born December 4, 1939 in Heaton, North Carolina to the late Maxine Puckett. He had lived most of his life in Carter County. He was a retired Tree Trimer.
Survivors include a son: Jimmy Hill, Elizabethton. Three Brothers: Howard Thomas Puckett and wife Jackie, Johnson City, Roger Tolley, Elizabethton, and Doyle Puckett and wife Cindy, Watauga. One Sister: Clara Cain, Elizabethton. Several nieces & nephews. One special friend: Leo “Boss Hog” Humphrey.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ed Davis and Rev. Danny Osborne officiating. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at10:20 a.m. Saturday will be: Walt Pierce, Cag Mottern, David Blevins, Larry Kiser, Jeff Humphrey and Leon Humphrey. Honorary Pallbearers will be: “Boss Hog” Humphrey, Kevin Markland, and Dana Markland. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to all his Doctors and Nurses at Johnson City Medical Center, the Certified Nursing Assistants, and the Bright Star Workers and to his many friends and clients. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery.
