Edith D. Miller, 96, of Elizabethton, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Hillview Health Care following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late A.B. and Lillie Dickenson and was born in Russell County, VA, although she lived most of her life in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas “Shorty” Miller and several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Miller liked to cook, enjoyed playing bingo and loved her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Jerry Ray Miller and his wife, Rebecca, Orlando, FL; Terry Lew Miller and his wife, Tinky, Johnson City; three grandchildren, Tammy Furnas, and her husband, Bill, Winston-Salem, NC; Donnie Miller, Orlando, FL; Mark Miller and his wife, Kim, Jonesborough; five great-great grandchildren, Blaze Miller, Winston-Salem, NC; Cecilia Miller, Jonesborough PVT. Chevy Miller, Fort Benning, GA; Bristol Miller, Winston-Salem, NC; Ella Grace Williams Miller, Johnson City; and a sister, Roma Jean Baldwin, Bowling Green, KY. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The service to honor the life of Mrs. Miller will be conducted on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, Elizabethton with Rev. Lon Tobin officiating. Music will be under the direction of Carolyn Heaton. Interment will follow the funeral service on Wednesday at Happy Valley Memorial Park.

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the American Diabetes Association, 4660 Old Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37918.

The special would like to extend a special thank you to her nieces, Brenda Peters, Pamela Carr, the staff of Hillview Health Care for the love and care shown to Mrs. Miller.
