Ella Mae Ritchie Hardin, 84, Elizabethton, passed away Monday, November 30. 2015 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late James and Hazel Cole Ritchie. She was a 1949 graduate of Unaka High School. Ella Mae was a retired employee of the Raytheon Corporation, Bristol. She was an active member of Carter Christian Church having served in various committees in the church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Howard and Wayne Ritchie and a sister: Charlotte Davidson.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years: Lawrence Hardin. A Daughter & Son-In-Law: Judy & Larry Estep, Elizabethton. A Son & Daughter-In-Law: Phil & Karla Hardin, Fairhope, Alabama. Four Granddaughters: Beth Bare and husband Daniel, Hollie Shah and husband Sam, Audrey Hardin and Abigail Hardin. Four great grandchildren: Kendall and Kacie Bare and Carson & Ava Shah. One Sister & Brother-in-Law; Carol & Don Myers, Elizabethton. Several Nieces & Nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Tom Caraway, Minister officiating. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Dr. James Shipley. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home prior to the service.
