Ella Mae (Head) Jackson, age 81, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from her residence. Ella Mae was born in Carter County to the late John and Hattie Hill Head. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Jackson; two sons, Kevin Jackson and Ernest Kent Jackson; two sisters, Hannah Lee Carter and Viola Morgan; and two brothers, Eugene Head and Ernest Head.

Ella Mae was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who prayed diligently for her family. She was a 1957 graduate of Cloudland High School. Ella Mae was a member of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church since 1972, where she taught the toddler class for several years and played piano for the Children’s Church. She was retired from the Carter County Veteran’s Services Office and had also served as a teacher’s aide for several years. Ella Mae loved her church and all the children, who called her Mamaw Jackson, which she loved. She also loved reading her Bible, word searches, cooking for her family and gardening when she was able.

Those left to cherish her many wonderful memories include two brothers, Leslie and wife Debbie and Robert Lee and wife Helen, all of Elizabethton; her grandchildren, Kadie Williams and husband Andrew, John and Hope Jackson, Robbie Reibeiling, Crissi Jackson, Lindsey, Brittney, Micah and Cherish Jackson; great grandchildren, Kenley, Harlee and Kaitlyn Reibeiling, Fynnley Williams, Josiah Kent Jackson and expected grandchild Catherine Jackson , Jacob, Matthew and Lillie Roberts; her daughters-in-law, Cathy and Kelly Jackson. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive, as well as her special friends, Betty and Lynn Montgomery, Floyd Nave, Lillian Pierce, Jerry Bowers, and three special ladies that visited her at home many times from church, Lois Houck, Shellie Tipton and Michelle Bowers.

A service to celebrate the life of Ella Mae (Head) Jackson will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Monday, November 4, 2019 at Pleasant Beach Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Fowler and Pastor Charles Biggs, officiating, with honorary Pastor Bobby Stout present at the service, who ministered to her for over 40 years. Music will be provided by Tammy and Greg Ruston. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the church, prior to the service on Monday or at the residence at other times.

The graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Keith Lowe, Tommy Vaughn III, Kevin Vaughn, Alex Campbell, Lee Foley, Shannon Burchett, David Finney, Carson Biggs and Adam Timbs. Honorary pallbearers will be Bud Street, David Harrison, Charles Pearson, Eston Shaffer, John Lewis, Gordon Lewis, Jeff Lewis, Lee Hamm, Vaughn Campbell Jr, Luther Norris, Lynn Montgomery, Larry Vaughn Sr, Jerry Bowers, Jerome Finney and Allen Clark. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton at 12:15 PM on Tuesday, to go in procession.
