Elsie H. McKinney, age 92, of Elizabethton, passed away on May 21, 2016 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital after an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late William Henry and Mary Jane Wilson Harrison and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Dean Crowe; four brothers and one sister. She was a lifetime member of the Sims Hill Christian Church
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Clarence E. “Mac” McKinney, of the home; one son, Keith McKinney, of Stanley, KS; two daughters, Gertrude Butler, of McHenry, IL and Mary Jo Porter, of Olathe, KS; seven grandchildren; and ten great- grandchildren; and one sister, Beulah Wiseman, of Elizabethton.
A service to celebrate the life of Elsie H. McKinney will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 25, 2016 in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Mr. Bret Jones, Minister, officiating. Music will be under direction of the Linda Henry, choir director and the Sims Hill Christian Church choir. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1:00- 2:00 PM on Wednesday prior to the service, or at the residence at other times.
Interment will follow the service at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from the men of Sims Hill Christian Church and other friends.
