Elwanda Nave

Elwanda Vance Nave, age 90, of Elizabethton, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018 at her residence. Elwanda was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee to the late William Henry and Bessie Miller Vance. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Nave, Jr.; one daughter, Brenda Sue Vandeventer; two brothers, Bobby Gene Vance and William R. Vance; and one sister, Virginia Vance.

Elwanda graduated from Cloudland High School and she retired from Walmart. She was a member of Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church and a member of the Senior Citizens Club. She enjoyed shopping, traveling and playing Bingo.

Those left to cherish her memory include two step daughters, Lisa Hilbert and husband Joey and Unetta Woods and husband Steve, all of Elizabethton; one step son, Jerry Nave and wife Linda, of GA; two grandchildren, Jessica Tester and husband Christopher, of Elizabethton and Jeffery Woods, of Nashville; two step grandchildren, Christy Gilmore and husband Marcus and Jeremy Nave and Jamie; six great grandchildren, Evan Gilmore, Addison Gilmore, Hudson Gilmore, Corey Nave, Jordan Nave and Eva Tester; two brothers, Jimmy Vance and wife Mavis, of CA and Kelly Vance and wife Ann, of Elizabethton; one sister, Yvonne Birchfield and husband David, of CA; and two sisters-in-law, Gladys Vance, of Roan Mountain and Vickie Vance, of Kingsport. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service to celebrate the life of Elwanda Vance Nave will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Mark Street, officiating. Active pallbearers will be Kelly Vance, Steve Woods, Jeffery Woods and Joey Hilbert. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton at 1:15 PM on Monday, to go in procession to the cemetery.
