Eva M. Oliver, age 88, of Elizabethton, passed away on Monday, January 09, 2017 at Pine Ridge Care and Rehab. She was a daughter of the late Porter and Lela Buckles and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl M. Oliver in 1991; a daughter, Julie Combs in 1994; two sisters, Irene Bowers and Grace Williams; two brothers, Clyde Buckles and Charles Buckles. Eva was a member of East River Park Christian Church.
Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Pam Slayton and husband, David of Elizabethton; two sisters, Carol Start of Blountville; Marcella Douthit of Clover, SC; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service to honor the life of Eva M. Oliver will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Terry Oliver officiating. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 9:55 AM for the graveside service.
