Frances Barnett, age 87, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 9, 2015 from the Ivy Hall Nursing Home in Elizabethton, Tennessee. Frances was born on July 17, 1928 in Elk Park, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Finley and Ines Turbyfill Guinn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Barnett; her step father, Howard Puckett; a sister, Margaret McInturff; a brother, Dennis Turbyfill; a sister-in-law, Barbara Puckett; two brothers-in-law, Sherman McInturff and Willie Arrowood.
Frances retired from Denise Lingerie, where she worked as a seamstress. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Biltmore Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Charles “Billy” Barnett, Jr. and wife Debbie, of Mosheim, TN; two daughters, Doris Jean Woodby and Kathy Parlier and husband Tim, all of Elizabethton; one sister, Virginia Arrowood, of Johnson City; one brother, Hobert “Buddy” Puckett, of Johnson City; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Turbyfill, Elizabethon; five grandchildren, Clinton Woodby, Heather Dykes, Brandon Parlier, Tabatha Barnett and Billy Wade Barnett; three great grandchildren, Timothy Barnett, Cody Woodby and Brittney Brown; and one great great grandchild, Paisley Stines. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of life service for Mrs. Frances Barnett will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Monday, October 12, 2015 in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Mr. Josh McInturff, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Monday.
The graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Brandon Parlier, Chris Dykes, Clinton Woodby, Wesley Barnett, Cody Woodby, and Timothy Barnett. Rick Parlier will serve as honorary pallbearer. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton at 12:15 PM on Tuesday, to go in procession.
