Gary Lee Burchfield, Sr.

Gary Lee Burchfield, Sr., 72, Johnson City, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born February 27, 1949 in Johnson City to the late Conley & Lavada Quillen Burchfield. Gary was retired from Rainbo Bakery after 29 years of service and also retired from James H. Quillen Medical Center after six years of service. He was a member of Johnson City Masonic Lodge # 486. He loved fishing, sports, his family and laughter. Gary attended University Parkway Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Ann Burchfield, a sister: Wanda Bulla and two brothers: Kyle and Phil Burchfield.

Survivors include his wife: Kay Baker Burchfield. Three Children: Gary Burchfield, Jr., Johnson City, Sherry (Jeff) Miller, Elizabethton and Lisa (Eric) Loftis, Johnson City. Eight Grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two Sisters: Charlotte Jones, and Gail (John) Perkins. Four Brothers: Jack, Ray, Wayne and Lynn Burchfield. Several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2022 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with his nephew Mr. Kyler Burchfield officiating. Burial will follow the service. Active Pallbearers will be: James Thompson, Jr., John Wyatt Loftis, Carlos Rivera, Brandon Burchfield, Jeff Miller, Eric Loftis and Bryant Trivett. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Amedisys Hospice for the excellent care he received.
