Gary Stephen Simerly, 66, Hampton, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at his residence after a brief illness. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Thurman H. & Virgie Mae Woodby Simerly. He was a retired truck driver from Bolton Block Company. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Lynn Wargo and Joan Johnson. Gary loved to hunt fish and work in his garden.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years: Georgia Beasley. Step-Mother, Roxie Simerly. Two Sisters: June Cunningham, Ocala, Florida and Kathy Miller, Hampton. Three Brothers: J.B. Simerly, Harrisburg, Illinois, Bobby & Jerry Simerly, both of Hampton. Several nieces & nephews.
Graveside Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2017 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Dr. Alan King officiating. Burial will follow the service. Active Pallbearers will be: Troy Simerly, Larry Simerly, Joseph Miller, Austin Miller, Lonnie Lineberry and M. A. Lineberry.
