George Colbert G.C. “Cob” Riddle, 73, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016 in the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late G.C. & Irene Bailey Riddle. Cob was a 1961 graduate of Elizabethton High School. He was a legend in the Boxing Community. Cob was a member of the Southside Christian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Helen Guenther Riddle a brother: Larry “MO” Riddle.
Survivors include 12 sons, several grandchildren: Brother: Vernon “Mousey” Riddle. A sister: Phyllis Bowers.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Michael Koruschak, Minister officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 1 p.m. Monday August 15, 2016 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 12:20 p.m. Monday will be: Vernon “Mousey” Riddle, Scott Vance, Bobby Tanner, Chris Robinette, Scott Potter, Shane Davis, Kim Birchfield, Blayton Watson, Charlie Watson, Dillon Dawson, and Rick Peters. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Carl Ray Nidiffer, Deacon Bowers, Kenny Perry and all the golden Glove Community. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
