Geraldine Scalf Grindstaff, 85, Johnson City, passed away Sunday March 25, 2018 in the Parkwest Medical Center, Knoxville. A native of Sullivan County, she was a daughter of the late Rhuda & Maggie Alford Scalf. She had lived most of her life in Elizabethton. She attended Unaka High School. Geraldine was retired from Johnson City Medical Center in the Day Surgery Department. She was a member of Unaka Baptist Church but attended Mountain View Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Jack Dean Grindstaff, a son: Steve Grindstaff, a twin sister at birth another sister: Elaine Traylor and two brothers: Sam & Edward Scalf.

Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law: Jackie & Judge Pippin, Knoxville. Four Grandsons: Seth Pippin & wife Malorie, Stephen Pippin, Jordan Grindstaff, and John Goodwin and wife Ketasha Two Great Grandsons: Eli Pippin and Graham Goodwin, two great granddaughters: Gracen Goodwin and Emmy Pippin. A special cousin who was the same as her sister, Claudia Ensor and two special nieces: Ann Fortner and Sandra Gobrol.

Private Services will be Saturday March 31, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Friends may register their presence at the funeral home 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.   In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 204 W. Walnut Street, Johnson City, Tenn. 37604.
