Geraldine Hodge

     Geraldine Hopson Hodge, 82, Elizabethton passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018 at her residence. Born September 15, 1935 in Elizabethton to the late Bill & Ailene Nave Hopson. She was a graduate of Unaka High School. Mrs. Hodge was a Certified Nursing Assistant. She retired from Hermitage Nursing Home in 1994.   She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Hubert Glenn Hodge and a brother: Arlin Hopson.

Survivors include her children: Steven Hodge (Patty), Elizabethton, Janet Taylor (John) _, Hood River, Oregon and Brian Hodge, Bluff City. Two Sisters: Frances Stout of Chuckey, Tenn., Ruby Vandagriff (Clyde), Elizabethton. Five Grandchildren: Jeremy Hodge, Piney Flats, Andy Taylor (Victoria), Salem Oregon, Josh Taylor (Laurel) Hood River, Oregon, Elizabeth Decker (Kristoff), Fairview , Oregon, and Stephanie Rothell (Marcus), Ankeny, Iowa. Ten Great Grandchildren. A special Aunt & lifetime friend, Phyllis Gouge, Johnson City. Several nieces, nephews & cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jamie Ferguson officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2018 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Patty Hodge. Active Pallbearers will be: Dennis Depew, Josh Taylor, Jeremy Hodge, Jackie Blevins, Ronnie Stout and Glen Stout. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dr. Ryan Hackett, Dr. David Fenner, Dr. David Mills and members of the Cedar Heights Condo Association. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite charity. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
