Glenn Ray Wright, 79, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016 in the Hermitage Health Center. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late George & Bess McKinney Wright. Mr. Wright was a plumber having operated Wrights Plumbing for several years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Joan Marjorie McMann Wright, a step-son: Alan Jones, a brother: George Wright, Jr., and four sisters and their husbands: Opal & Spurgeon Smith, Matoka & James Vines, Geraldine & Calvin Rasnick and Elvina & Keith McNabb.
Survivors include A Sister: Rhoda Riddle, Elizabethton. A Brother & Sister-in–law: Bob & Marie Wright, Elizabethton. Several nieces & nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Parker Street officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2016 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Ronnie Blevins. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:20 p.m. Sunday will be: Larry McKinney, Arvil McKinney, Jeff McKinney, Danny Nidiffer, Stephen Bentley and Bobby Wright. The family will receive friend’s from6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:20 p.m. Sunday to go to the cemetery.
