Gregory Lee Slemp, 61, Elizabethton, passed away Monday, August 17, 2020 in the Bristol Regional Hospital. He was born February 1, 1959 in Panama City, Florida. Greg was a 1977 graduate of Elizabethton High School, where he served in the Betsy Band. He was an Electrician. He attended Oak Street Baptist Church. Greg loved to play golf and fish. He was preceded in death by his father Hasferd Slemp who passed away May 11, 2017.

Survivors include his Mother: Emma Jean Fair Slemp. A Sister: Valencia (Clyde) Keisler, a nephew: Neil (Wendy) Greenwell, a niece: Shana Brower, a great nephew: Donavon Brower, a great niece: Mayson Brower, several aunts, uncles & cousins. His good friend: Rhonda Pugh, Mary Hart who was like a 2nd mother to him, his special friends: Tim Hart,and Lou Ellis

Graveside Service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2020 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Kevin Slemp officiating. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 2:20 p.m. Thursday will be: Neil Greenwell, Scotty Slemp, Brandon Tuelle, Clyde Keisler, Tim Hart, Lynn Tolley, Mark Mallasch and Jimmy Jr. Slemp. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to his cousins Scotty Slemp, the staff of the Cancer Center at Vanderbilt University and the staff of Bristol Regional Hospital. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Greg to the “We Love Our Church” ,804 Oak Street, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643. Greg was always doing something for someone, he would like for everyone to do something kind for someone. Friends may register their presence at the funeral home between the hours of 1 and 4:30 p.m. Wednesday or Thursday morning. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, everyone is required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 2:20 p.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.
