Harold Daniel VanHuss, 76, Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020 in the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Brown & Eliza (Garrison) VanHuss. Harold was a graduate of Hampton High School and attended East Tennessee State University. He was retired from Advance Auto Parts. He was a member and Elder of Buffalo Valley Christian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Diana Wilkinson VanHuss who passed away June 17, 2005, by a daughter, Laura Elaine Spears, March 04, 2020, and by his siblings: Florence Blevins, Infant Mary Belle VanHuss, John VanHuss, Ford VanHuss, Margaret Doherty and Haskiel “Hack” VanHuss.
Survivors include His Sister: Hazel Marion, Maryville and brother: K.S. “Dick” VanHuss, Elizabethton. His Step-Children: Christa (Lynn) Haynes, Kingsport, Randy (Letha) Lane, Gray, Greg (Loretta) Lane, Jonesborough, David (Kristia) Brown, Elizabethton and Sheri Phillips, Elizabethton. Six grandchildren, Five great grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren and six step great grandchildren. Several nieces & nephews. His special friend: Barbara VanHuss.
Graveside Service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2020 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Roland Whittemore, Minister officiating. Burial will follow the service. Active Pallbearers will be Elders & Deacons of Buffalo Valley Christian Church. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Andrew McCannon, Danny Doherty, Jeff VanHuss, Walter VanHuss and Jimmy Marion. Friends may register their presence at the funeral home Friday until 2 p.m.. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 2:20 p.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
