Hazel Louise Fortner Rader, 76, Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Dan & Velma Estep Fortner. Hazel was a 1955 graduate of Elizabethton High School. She was involved with her late husband, Ken Rader, in the operation of Rader Drug Store for a number of years. Hazel was a member of the Grace Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roby Oliver; and her second husband, Ken Rader; and two sisters: Georgia Moore and Charlotte Ward.
Survivors include a sister: Ruby Ensor and her husband, Dennie, Elizabethton; A brother: George Fortner and his wife, Lucy, Roan Mountain; Nine Special Nephews: Donald & Johnny Ensor, Bob Moore Jr., Danny Ward, Jonathan Fortner, Landry & Will Buckles and Ethan & Charlie Fortner; Four special nieces: Teresa Ward-Dalton, Debra Arnold, Carrie Buckles and Bailey Fortner; Four very special great nieces: Leah Moore, Brandi Ensor, Macy Ensor and Madison Ensor; Four very special great nephews: Daniel Moore, Michael Arnold, Davy Ensor and Daniel Ensor; One great great niece: Emma Moore; and one great great nephew: Logan Ward
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ron Owens officiating.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Mr. Bob Moore Jr. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Thursday will be: Donald Ensor, Johnny Ensor, Bob Moore Jr., Danny Ward, Jonathan Fortner and Kelly Buckles.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Building Fund, Grace Baptist Church, 1114 Broad Street, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643.
Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery.
