Heddy Canko, age 90, of Elizabethton, went home to join her husband in Heaven on Sunday, December 13, 2015 from her residence. Heddy was born in Orme, TN and was a daughter of the late Early and Maggie Hibbs Nunley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Canko.
Heddy was of the Baptist faith and attended Pleasant Beach Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Michael Canko, of Wisconsin; two sisters, Shirley Nunley and Wanda Thompson; and two special friends Edward Marley and his wife Jo Ann; of Elizabethton, TN
A service to honor the life of Mrs. Canko will be conducted on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Mark Fowler officiating. Music will be under the direction of Greg Ruston and Tawana Holland. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, prior to the service on Friday.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be chosen from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at 10:15 AM on Saturday at Tetrick Funeral home, to go in procession.
