Mr. Howard H. Julian, 92, of Hampton, went home to be with his Lord, on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Signature HealthCARE Wellness and Rehab Center (formerly Pine Ridge Health and Rehab.) He was born in Roan Mountain, TN and was the son of the late William and Mattie Townsend Julian. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Huddle Julian, his son-in-law, Albert Proffitt, and several brothers and sisters.

Mr. Julian was a veteran of the United States Army having served his country proudly in WWII. He was a member of Hampton First Baptist Church, enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family. He retired from Paty Lumber Company where he worked as a mechanic.

Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Donna Proffitt, of Hampton; Teresa Wilson (Lester) of Elizabethton; two grandchildren, Traci Proffitt, of Hampton; (boyfriend, Michael Grayson), of Mountain City; Brandon Wilson, (fiancée, Sarah Meeks), of Johnson City; two sisters, Jeanette Calhoun, Mary Lou Williams, both of Hampton; three brothers, Norman Julian, Willard Julian, and Herbert Julian, all of Hampton; a step grandson, Matt Wilson and wife Nikki; and a step great granddaughter, Ansley. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM in the Hampton First Baptist Church, or at the home at anytime.

A private graveside service will be conducted at Happy Valley Memorial Park.

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Hampton First Baptist Church, 407 1st Ave, Hampton, TN 37658.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Signature HealthCARE (formerly Pine Ridge), for taking care of “Papaw” with such love and care. A special thank you also goes to his caregiver, Tony Davenport.
