Imogene R. Campbell, age 87, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 2, 2016 from her residence. Imogene was born in Chattaroy, West Virginia, but had lived in Carter County most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Ruth Milam Rouse. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace “Ed” Campbell in 1983; a sister, Helen Tester; and a brother, Wade Rouse.

Imogene retired from North American Rayon Corporation and was a member of Doe River Baptist Church. She was a seamstress and thoroughly enjoyed sewing, she also enjoyed gardening, flowers, and being with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Wade Campbell and wife Viki Li, and Steven Lynn Campbell, all of Elizabethton; a granddaughter, Renee McNeal and husband Jerry, of Elizabethton; two great grandchildren, Jeremy McNeal and his wife, Brittany; and Cheyenne McNeal, both of Elizabethton; two great great grandchildren, Brayden McNeal and Jace McNeal, both of Elizabethton; four step grandchildren, Stephani Shouse and husband David, Staci Peters and husband Jason, Kristi Zimmerman, and Keri Howell and husband Colby, all of Elizabethton; six step great grandchildren, Dalton Shouse, Tiffani Shouse, Gavin Peters, Cody Zimmerman, Eli Zimmerman and Nicholas Perry, all of Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews also survive.

A service to honor the life of Mrs. Imogene R. Campbell will be conducted at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Doe River Baptist Church with Rev. Harold McNabb and Rev. Daniel Fink, officiating. Music will be provided by Rev. Harold McNabb. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Doe River Baptist Church, prior to the service on Wednesday, or at the residence at any time.

The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from the men of Doe River Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Milam, friends and neighbors, and members of Doe River Baptist Church. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at 10:15 AM on Thursday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, to go in procession.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mountain States Hospice and the nurses of Sycamore Shoals Hospital for the love and care shown to Imogene.
