Jack was well known in the community by many friends and family for his life-long career at Roan Mountain State Park and Sycamore Shoals State Park. He was of the Baptist faith loved the outdoors, sports- especially Nascar and racing and football.
Jack is survived by a sister; Sherry Merryman Garris (Dave) of Mountain City, a brother; Doug Merryman (Sharon) of Elizabethton, two nieces; Christie Gauldin (Bradley) of Callands, VA, Crystal Newton (Steve) of Banner Elk, NC, two nephews; Adam Merryman (Rachel) of Elizabethton, Daniel Merryman (Jennifer) of Elizabethton. Jack is also survived by several great nieces and great nephews.
A service to honor the life of Jack Keith Merryman will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor Mark Fowler officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm prior to the service. Friends may also call the home of Doug Merryman at other times.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Friday, March 8, 2019 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from friends and family. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:15 pm to go in procession to the cemetery.
Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers are asked to make donations to the Humane Society, PO Box 134, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
